Following a long-running campaign to improve pedestrian safety for residents of Leybourne Park crossing the busy Bellingham Way to head over up New Hythe Lane or towards Tesco; we’re delighted to see that a controlled pedestrian crossing has now been installed and commissioned, right by our estate’s Abery drive entrance.
This campaign to help our community in our area has involved collaboration with the Parish and Borough councils, Panattoni as well as other local resident groups.
We hope this controlled crossing will increase safety for all residents wishing to cross what eventually will become the main entrance to the new industrial park on the former Aylesford newsprint site, but also act as a traffic control measure too.
There’s more improvements due to come to other roads around our estate soon, including an uncontrolled pedestrian crossing on New Hythe Lane, just by the Bricklayers Arms pub.
