The main purpose of the meeting was to establish a clear understanding of the parking rules for the development moving forward, ensuring both UKCPM and residents are aligned.
We want to stress that the Residents Association has been working extremely hard on this matter on behalf of everyone.
We fully appreciate that not everyone will be happy with the outcome, but this is the fairest and most practical solution we have been able to achieve after lengthy discussions and negotiations.
Key Issues Identified
-
Worn-out yellow lines
-
Confusing or unclear signage
-
Lack of clarity around when and where tickets are issued
-
UKCPM working from an outdated and inaccurate site plan
Current Enforcement Rules
At present, UKCPM are ticketing vehicles that are:
-
Parked on double yellow lines
-
With wheels on kerbs
-
Parked on a bend
-
Within 10 metres of a junction
-
Obstructing traffic or other parking
It was agreed that these rules, as they stand, have created a lot of ambiguity around where residents and visitors can and cannot park. To address this, the RA made suggestions to UKCPM to improve fairness and clarity.
This does mean that in some areas parking will no longer be possible. However, the goal is to balance enforcement while still allowing logical and safe parking on roadways to maximise available spaces.
Temporary Pause on Enforcement
UKCPM have agreed to pause site visits until 1st September 2025 while they update the signage and train the wardens on the new rules and maps. This is to ensure enforcement is consistent and fair once it restarts.
Yellow Lines & Costs
UKCPM confirmed that all current yellow lines must be repainted and additional new ones installed for proper enforcement. However, this comes at a cost to all residents and would likely increase service charges.
The RA pushed back on this, as we are all in agreement that no one wants unnecessary rises in service charges. That said, this will still need to be addressed, and RMG will notify all residents directly.
Interim Parking Rules
An interim plan has now been put in place. Until further notice, tickets will be issued for:
-
Parking on current yellow lines
-
Parking with wheels on kerbs
-
Parking on paved or landscaped areas
-
Parking commercial vehicles in visitor bays
-
Red lines (on the attached plan) – Parking in these areas will result in a ticket
-
Green lines (on the attached plan) – Safe areas to park

RMG and UKCPM have confirmed that UKCPM can trace ownership of commercial vehicles in visitor bays using VIN numbers, even if plates are removed. This means removing plates will not prevent ticketing.
