{"id":30726,"date":"2025-07-13T11:07:29","date_gmt":"2025-07-13T11:07:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/livingatleybournepark.co.uk\/?p=30726"},"modified":"2025-07-13T11:42:04","modified_gmt":"2025-07-13T11:42:04","slug":"parking-pcns-dont-get-caught-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/livingatleybournepark.co.uk\/?p=30726","title":{"rendered":"Parking, PCNs &#8211; don&#8217;t get caught out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Residents Association continues to receive a number of emails from residents who have received PCNs for parking violations on our estate.<\/p>\n<p>In many, there is a misconception that the RA is able to get any ticket voided \/ cancelled.\u00a0 Indeed, in some cases, residents have confirmed they have not responded to any PCN, or debt collection agency &#8211; assuming that their ticket has been voided.\u00a0 That&#8217;s incorrect.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll repeat once again the guidance we&#8217;ve continuously sent out to residents via this website, individually and via the Facebook group.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>If you receive a PCN from the parking enforcement company CPM for a violation on our estate, do not ignore it!\u00a0 If you believe you have grounds to contest or appeal the penalty, then you should do so, following the instructions on the PCN within the required timeframe.<\/li>\n<li>You can also appeal to the ombudsman at https:\/\/popla.co.uk\u00a0 This should be done in addition to any appeal to CPM<\/li>\n<li>If your appeal is unsuccessful and you receive a debt collection notice, do not bury your head in the sand and ignore it.\u00a0 Deal with it, otherwise the debt will increase and it could end up with a CCJ being applied against you which will adversely affect your credit score and your ability to obtain credit.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The Residents Association is not acting on behalf of an individual around an individual parking penalty notice.\u00a0 We are seeking to get an on-site meeting with RMG and CPM to clarify the position on penalties in order that we can provide further information to residents, of areas of the estate that would result in a PCN being issued.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Additional parking<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The RA lobbied KCC successfully to accommodate additional overnight street parking.\u00a0 This is available along the estate-side of <strong>Papyrus Way<\/strong>, with space for between 20-30 vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Use it and avoid getting a PCN.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Residents Association continues to receive a number of emails from residents who have received PCNs for parking violations on our estate.
